PDP clears refuse dump left by governor to punish his challengers

The heap, which was left on Douglas Road, Owerri, was cleared by PDP member, Honourable Ezenwa Onyewuchi.

The refuse dump abandoned in Owerri, Imo state to punish Governor Rochas Okorocha’s challengers has been cleared.
The smelly heap previously left on Douglas Road was cleared by a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Honourable Ezenwa Onyewuchi.

Onyewuchi, the representative of the Owerri Federal Constituency, was also aided by members of the Imo PDP.

Okorocha’s Chief Press Secretary, Samuel Onwuemeodo earlier said that the heap was deliberately left on the road to punish residents who had challenged the relocation of a market.

“Government deliberately abandoned the refuse along Douglas Road, Owerri, to get back at Owerri people who have been battling the state government, over the relocation of the market,” Onwuemeodo said during a radio programme.

“Owerri people must be made to understand that they cannot eat their cake and have it. There is a court order restraining government from tampering with the market and this also explains why we left the refuse,” he added.
