The Peoples Democratic Party has congratulated the governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson on his victory at the Supreme Court on Tuesday.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 upheld the Election of Governor Dickson on the Appeal brought before it by the All Progressive Congress (APC) and its Governorship Candidate in the December 5, 2015 Election, Chief Timipre Sylva.
In a statement by the spokesman of the party, Dayo Adeyeye, he said the Judgment has once again, “confirmed the mandate freely given to the PDP and its candidate in Bayelsa State, and also show that the State of Bayelsa is totally for the PDP.
“We also appreciate the Judiciary for serving justice in the face of intimidation and harassment by the Executive and its instruments of coercion against the rule of law.”
“Finally, we commend the people of Bayelsa State for standing firm with our party and the Governor during this period, while urging the Governor to continue with his people oriented programmes in the state”, the statement concluded.
